Colosseum

Recently, I have felt uninspired with some of the local locations for photography. Thus, I decided to post an older photo of the Colosseum. I took this shot during a cross-country Italy trip that my fiancé and I took in 2018. We were fortunate enough to take this trip prior to the whole COVID-19 pandemic. I am excited that traveling is starting to open up because we will be venturing to Maldives soon for our honeymoon. And I always love shooting new spots.

Anyway, I shot this photo during twilight on a cloudy day. It had been fairly muggy all day and I didn’t find great opportunities for photos. However, I knew that the clouds would make for a nice blue twilight sky after sunset. Sure enough, once the sun went down, the sky lit up with the beautiful blue hue. Even more fortunate, the blue complimented some of the yellow tones in the lights from the Colosseum. The only downside is that there were several people scattered around the photo. But, with a little Photoshop magic, and several combined images, I removed them all. I thought the night image of the Colosseum added a different view of a familiar landmark. You can see some of my other photos from Italy here. Let me know what you think!
