Maine Coastline

I took this shot of the Maine coastline at Monument Cove. This spot is located along the Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park.

This past winter I visited Acadia National Park in Maine for the first time. I stayed in a hotel in Southwest Harbor, right near Bar Harbor, for the week. Initially, I thought a few key roads wouldn’t be open. Fortunately, the main sections of Park Loop road were where I could access this spot.

Maine, specifically Acadian National Park, is the first place the see the sunrise in the United States. In turn, I spent several early mornings chasing the sunrise in hopes of catching some great shots. The picture below is one such attempt. First, I scouted out locations for where I wanted to shoot. Then, I checked the forecast the day before with SunsetWx and watched the clouds that night and everything looked good. The following morning I ventured out and was fortunate enough to catch this sunrise.

Overall, Maine has to be one of the most beautiful coastlines I have visited. Acadia, specifically, is an escape from the hustle and bustle of cities and just raw nature, much like I felt in Hawaii.

This picture is a panorama of two photos that I merged with Photoshop and mainly edited with Lightroom. Let me know what you think.
