Hidden Forest

Kristin didn’t really like this photo I took of her in this hidden forest path. But she said I could still post it so here it is. I took this shot when we visited this nature trail near my old house about a year ago. At the time, I had the idea for this shot but never got around to taking it. I wanted to take it on an overcast day and I didn’t know anywhere to go off the top of my head. I ended up finding a great hidden place and decided to venture out on the first overcast day we had. Things did not turn out as well as we both hoped though.

Initially, before we ventured out, Kristin did her hair and it looked perfect for the photo. However, once we got to this spot, it was super humid out. This was news to me but it turns out, humidity will mess with your hair. So, that perfect hair that she spent some time doing quickly came undone. Because of this, I didn’t end up using most of the pictures from this trip. Fortunately, I found this little gem in the batch of pictures I took. Although her hair didn’t turn out as we intended, I though that it fit the scenery here pretty well. I think it gave the photo a more natural look and I really liked how it turned out.

I took this shot with my Nikon D810 and a 50mm f/1.4 lens. Hope you like the results!
